Johan Skytt is found above Alnes at Godøy northwest of Ålesund, Sunnmøre. Nobody seems to know why the rock is named Johan Skytt. There is a theory, however, that it is renamed in honour of the famous bear hunter, Johan Alnæs(1866 – 1933) living in Romsdal, of whom the local population is said to have been very proud.
