The pastors of the Holy Name omitted nothing tointerest the congregation in the church, by establishingsocieties into which all might ha induced to enter. After he had pursued the course of studiesthere for four years he resolved to make the UnitedStates the field of his missionary labors, and havino-come to this country he entered the Seminary of OurLady of the Angels, near the Suspension Bridge overNiagara Falls. His course of studies was, however, sud-denly interrupted here by an luitoward accident. Theinstitution was destroyed by fire on the 5th of December,1864. He at once
