A FLYWHEEL explosion of considerable violence occurred July9th, 1925 at the factory of the Jesse French Piano Company, New-castle, Indiana, and resulted in a property loss of $8,800. Theengine overspeeded and the rim and five of the eight spokes of thewheel broke into many pieces which tore their way through the walls androof of the engine room and scattered widely. A view of the engineroom after the accident, is shown on our front cover. One piece of the rim, about 3 ft. in length, flew over the three storymain factory building and landed in a garden across the street. An-other piece, about 2 ft. in length, was found in a field approximately500 ft. from the plant. A man sitting on his front porch just acrossthe street from the factory saw the flying fragments in the air andestimated that
