To the Most Worshipful the Grand Master, Officersand Members of the Grand Lodge of A. F. 8f of Canada, in the Province of Ontario : Most Worshipful Sir and Brethren ; I have the honor to submit for your consideration myreport on the condition and progress of Craft Masonry inOntario District -No. 12. Before doing so, permit me tothank the brethren of the district fox the honor whichthey conferred upon me by electing me to the importantand responsible position of District Deputy GrandMaster, and also the Worshipful Masters and brethren ofthe various lodges for their kind and courteous treatmentduring my term of office. I have endeavored to impressupon the brethren the dignity and high importance ofthe order, and have strongly urged them to study theprinciples and symbolism of the work. My first official act was to send a circular letter to allthe lodges, notifying them of my appointment, and 1oforward all notices of meetings to me.
