All are agreed that the sea- son just ended has been a satisfactory one, particularly when the depression ruling in so many other lines of busi- ness is considered. After weeks of warm, dry weather there was a real rain storm June 29, which stayed over four days and left five inches of precipitation in its wake. This almost ruined outdoor flowers tem- porarily, and the alisence of sun for several successive days niateri;illy re- duced the cut of roses. The roses are still good property and sell at satisfac- tory jirices. ('arnations are still coming in. Morn- ing (ilow showing up tlie best of all, witli Ward and Matchless next in or- der. Sweet peas are scarce, owing to the long continued rain. Other open- air flowers, such as Gypsophila elegans, gaillardias, coreoi)sis, etc., sufi^ered. The percnuial Gypsophila paniculata is now in season and is a niucli better seller than the annual one. Lilies include some nice auratum, sjicciosum and reg;ile, but the demand is not good
