Situated on the Atlantic coast, the cove at Crackington Haven is surrounded by spectacular cliffs and has a geological phenomena named after it; The Crackington Formation - a fractured shale that has been bent and contorted by the earth's movements millions of years ago. One mile south of Crackington is 'High Cliff', Cornwall's highest cliff standing 735 feet (223 metres) high.
