The chemical, which also serves as a fertilizer once it is on the ground, is pumped from two nozzles mounted inside a C-130 Hercules aircraft. The aircraft is equipped with the Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System (MAFFS) and is fighting fires throughout California in conjunction with the US Forest Service.
