Lanternier is well prepared for a busy season, and everything in the greenhouses is in tip-top condition. Markey Bros, have a fine stock of all kinds of winter flowers in their green- houses, and are devoting several more houses to roses this year. The Veseys are cutting heavily of roses, particularly My Maryland. This firm cuts an average of 2,400 roses & day. One large house, 40x300, is de- voted to Killarneys, besides fifteen oth- er rose houses. The orchid houses are producing splendidly. The grower of these flowers is experimenting with orchid seedlings. A heavy cut is ex- pected for this winter's demand. The plant of the C. B. Flick Floral Co. is in prime condition. The young stock is healthy, and particularly is this true of the roses. The Killarney plants are exceptionally fine. Young carnation stock promises good things for this winter. The outlook for mums is extremely good, and several of the early varieties are in. The quality of these is fine. Miss Doswell, of the Doswell Green- houses, has opened a pretty new flower store on West Main street. The in- terior decorations are extremely pleas- ing. The walls are done in buff and the woodwork finish is in white enamel. A tile floor harmonizes in coloring. Miss Doswell will specialize
