A rapier, a reproduction in the style of 1620. Original blade from around 1600 with an asymmetrical cross-section, ridged on one side. Old repair at one place. Rich etching in the upper third with cartouches between decorative arabesques, somewhat worn off by cleaning. The motto, "Soli Deo Gloria" is on both sides, and the signature "...TER MONSIT MEFECIT SOLINGEN" on the back. A helmet mark is stamped into one side of the ricasso.
