Thisswollen, protruding lip was in the sixteenth century, inits original type, usually combined with a long, heavyunder jaw, as one sees in the Emperor Charles V[5,4].Later the jaw became more nearly normal, though thelip still persisted, and can be traced, with its varyingdegrees of intensification, through no less than eighteengenerations, coming out in at least seventy of the variousdescendants.
