The epithelium lining the glands in the dog have beendescribed with the greatest exactness and detail by Walker, and in man by Langerhans (42). The cells are arranged inone layer, and vary in shape — long columnar, cuboidal, oreven irregular, with relatively large nuclei near the base in theprimary lobules, while in the ducts the cells are more flattenedwith nuclei near the centre, and at the exits are merelysquamous, of the urethral type. The alveolar secretion isseen as a shrunken, finely granular mass, staining pink byeosin. An occasional desquamated granular epithelial cellis seen, and in senile prostates, which in no other way deviatefrom the normal, there are so fre
