A large development of this faculty gives an inclination tostudy medicine, and contributes largely to success in the prac-tice of the physician—in fact, it is essential to the highest de-gree of skill and eminence in the profession; and its sign maybe observed large in its most distinguished members. TheNorth American Indians are noted for their high cheek-bones,and have great natural talent for surgery. Those whohave the sign of this faculty small, get ill easily, and getwell very soon of themselves, while the reverse is true ofthose who have it large.
