The Trippet Stones stone circle on Bodmin Moor, Cornwall, England, UK, looking ENE to Hawk's Tor & the Stripple Stones henge: a true circle 33m across

The Trippet Stones stone circle on Bodmin Moor, Cornwall, England, UK, looking ENE to Hawk's Tor & the Stripple Stones henge. A true circle 33m across with evenly spaced granite pillars high set in apposing pairs. There may have been up to 28 stones originally but many were damaged or removed by stonebreakers so only eight remain standing,. A C19th boundary stone once stood near the centre of the circle; it lay flat in January 1981 & was subsequently removed. Trippet may refer to dancers turned to stone for tripping the light fantastic on the Sabbath.
