Outdoor roses, especially long and me- dium stemmed, are scarce and those in bloom have to be wired to be used in bunches. As a rule they are only fit for design work. Owing to the warm weather we enjoyed during the latter part of March, the growers started to put the more hardy kinds of greenhouse plants outside, some of them in the open air and others under latticed sheds, but the more tender plants are still kept inside on account of the extremely cool nights we have had this month.
