's 82nd Annual San Genaro started from September 10 and ending September 20,2009 , on the streets of Manhattan , historical little space played an important role in the development of Italian immigrants in the century 20 . Figli di San Gennaro , Inc., a non-profit community awarded annually since 1996 to keep the emotion , excitement and spirit of the first Italian immigrants . This year , they have managed to attract more than a million people on the streets of Little Italy to contribute to the annual survey of the patron saint of Naples. This festival is known worldwide because of their religious processions, free musical performances throughout the day, food, colorful parades , charming restaurants and cafes and even a world famous cannoli -eating contest .
