Cold Winter snow scene and the Clunie Burn, which flows into the River Dee. Looking towards Glenshee, Braemar, Cairngorms National Park, Scotland UK

A river in the Grampians, the Water of Clunie rises in headstreams that flow from the N slopes of Cairnwell. It flows northwards through Glen Cluny to meet the River Dee at Braemar, near A93 road to Glenshe which descends to Braemar from the Cairnwell Pass. It follows the course of the Clunie Water which joins the River Dee to the north of Braemar. Braemar is dominated by Cairn Toul lying to the west. The Earl of Mar raised the Jacobite standard in Braemar in 1715.
