The seeds may be sown any time during the early summer, in finely perpared rich soil. As soon as large enough to handle, the little plants should be transplanted to the places where they are to bloom the following summer. Some evergreen branches, or a little straw or coarse hay, thrown over them when the ground begins to freeze, makes all the winter covering these plants require. In the spring a little fine manure and some bone meal should be dug about each plant. Calycanthema (C»^) and Smicer Canterhury Bells). This is un- questionably the finest type of this old-fashioned and much-prized garden plant. They differ from the ordinary type in having an extra large calyx, which is of the same color as the flower, giving the appearance of a cup and saucer. They are effective either in the garden or grown in pots ' for conservatory or table decoration. We offer them in separate colors as well as in mixture, viz.: PER PKT- 1736 Rose Pink.
