The treatment concludes with an application to the feet ofwater at the same temperature as that applied to the ankles and dorsum of the feet should be vigorouslyrubbed, and the sole percussed with energy, but not rubbed,on account of the unpleasant tickling sensation induced. Not more than 5 to 15 seconds should be occupied in rub-bing any part with the wet hand before the application of thetowel. If the rubbing is insufficient to produce reddeningof the surface, light spatting or percussion should be appliedafter drying. Good reaction should be secured in each areatreated before proceeding to another portion of the
