Provancher records it as a female by mistake. It was taken in Los Angeles County, Calif. (Coquillette). Distribution.—California, Utah and Baja California, Mexico with one questionable record from Utah. The writer has identified. Figure 18. Southwestern E. insignis Provancher 491 specimens from California, 173 specimens from Nevada (Douglas, Ormsby, and "Washoe counties) and three from Baja California (Descanso, Ensenada and 10 mi.
