The arrival of food and water to residents who remained or returned to Long Beach arrives three days after the passage of subtropical storm Sandy on Oct. 29. The National Guard Soldiers are part of Governor Cuomo’s call up of more than 2,400 troops in response to subtropical storm Sandy which struck New York City and Long Island Oct. 29.
