Catholics line up to pass by and touch the outside of the glass-enclosed effigy and relics of Pope John Paul II.
RElics of the recently beatified Pope John Paul II are on a tour of Mexico. A sample of the late Pope's blood, sealed in a vial atop a reposed wax effigy, will visit all of the country's 91 Catholic diocese during the next four months. The relics were received with a Mass at the Basilica of Guadalupe celebrated by Cardinal Norberto Rivera, the Primate, and Archbishop of Mexico. After the Mass, the faithful line up to pass by and touch the outside of the glass-enclosed effigy and relics at the back of the Basilica of Guadalupe.
