PHILIPPINE SEA (Oct. 9, 2018) The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force helicopter destroyer JS Izumo (DDH 183) are underway alongside each other during a cooperative deployment. Ronald Reagan is forward-deployed to the 7th fleet area of operations in support of security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
