Monkey Sanctuary Visit the monkey sanctuary on the outskirts of Senegambia next to the beach. This is also known as the Bijilo Forest Park or Nature trail. There are four marked paths to walk round. It is usual to do paths one and two only. It will take 30 minutes to 1 hour to walk round the reserve depending on how long you stop to watch the monkeys. It is best to visit the sanctuary early morning or late afternoon, it is far to hot between 11:00 & 14:00 and the monkeys are not active during these times. Remember to take plenty of water and sun cream with you. There are two types of monkeys to see in the park, the Green Velvets & the Red Colobus. The first ones will come very close but the second type are very scared of humans and can only be seen in the trees.
