Eleanor Cross, Geddington. Northamptonshire, stands at the centre of the village, was one of twelve erected by King Edward I and is one of only three that have survived. It .is the best preserved of the three remaining crosses which were erected at each of the overnight stopping places of the funeral cortege of Queen Eleanor on its journey from Harby in Nottinghamshire to her final resting place at Westminster Abbey in 1290.
