Gilad Shalit protest March commemorating four years of captivity
Gilad Shalit is a young Israeli soldier kidnapped and held for ransom by the Hamas terror was taken four years ago this month ,June 2006. Over the past two weeks his parents,Aviva and Noam Shalit have walked from their home in the Galilee to the home of Prime Minister Netanyahu to protest Israeli government's lack of determination to effect the release for the young soldier. Thousands of Israelis from all walks of life and circumstance have joined the Shalit family in their ten day walk to hope to influence the Israeli establishment and government to act and agree to a deal with the Hamas would entail releasing thousands of convicted terrorists and murderers and enable the Hamas to claim a major victory over Israel. Most Israelis feel that the release and freedom of one young person is more than worth the probable consequences of the release of Arab Terrorists.
