Capsule at first softly tomentose, when mature glabrous and shining, IJ-IJ in. long. Assam, Khasi hills, Chittagong. Large rapids (Hatgyi) on the Sal ween (, May, 1859), Amherst (, April, 1880). Fl. March-June. Evergreen forests, Upper Burma, Hmangin at 2,500 ft. (Smales, Dec, 1901) To this I refer specimens collected hy Br. Henry in Yunnan. 5. C. gibbosus, "Wall.; Kurz F. Fl. i. 827. Pegu, Tenasserim and Andamans.
