Frequently germshave been known to get into the milk from the hands orclothes of those who have just recovered from the disease,or from those who have been nursing a typhoid patient. Infectious and Non-contagious Diseases. — The germscausing lockjaw are present in the soil and may reachthe tissues through any kind of a wound, but they growonly when the air is shut off from them. Hydrophobia usuallyresults from the bite of a rabid dog with the germs in hissaliva. Trichinosis comes fromeating pork not well cooked andcontaining little worms. Theparasites causing malaria oryellow fever can reach the bodytissues only by the bite of cer-tain species of mosquitoes. Themalaria mosquito may always berecognized by the fact that ithas spotted Avings and holds itsbody oblique to the surface onwhich it alights, so that itappears to stand on its head.
