Following the completion of the tunnelling phase of the Channel Tunnel project, a new frontier post between the UK and France was established in a rail tunnel at a mid-point between the two nations. This picture shows the preparations for the ceremony on 30th November 1992 to mark this historic new frontier. The Channel Tunnel is considered to be one of the wonders of the modern world.
