Alan Schrader, commanding officer, Naval Base Kitsap (NBK), presents a commemorative plaque to guest speaker Dr. Darlene Iskra, first woman to command a Navy vessel, during Naval Base Kitsap’s annual Navy Ball commemorating the Navy’s 243rd birthday. The Navy celebrates its 243rd birthday with this year’s theme being, “Forged by the Sea.”
