AIGUES-VERTES FOUNDATION


Reportage in the Aigues-Vertes village in Switzerland, whose inhabitants all suffer from mental handicap. The Aigues-Vertes Foundation was founded in 1961 and is an institution whose aim to to help with the social and economic integration of people suffering from mental disability. It offers a place to live in the shape of a village with 20 buildings spread over a site, and can house 120 villagers. They all work in the village according to their own capabilities and at their own pace. Pascal is 20 and works in the village but lives in the town with his parents. He has worked in the bakery for nearly 2 years.
