This tipping or tilting of bolsters causes seriouswear to take place on their sides and on the transoms and inter-feres with the operation of the brakes, as it allows the trucks tochange their position slightly with reference to the car body. Sucha movement of the bolsters, also gives a movement to the car body,which is i-ibjectionable to the passengers. This bolster is also fast-ened to the elliptic spring with heavy U bolts which gives it a verystrong support and insures it against tilting.
