After ashort while the office was transferred to the village Vernon, and Mr. A. M. Hix and afterwardMr. George Gould became the postmasters. was displaced by J. S. Van Court, who, in turn,was succeeded by Jackson Hart, in 1857. Mr. Jona-than A. Searles, in 1861, ami Mr. Andrew Bridgeman,in 1S62, were appointed to the position.
