The thin, smooth rind is very tough and creamj^ yellow when ripe. Will keep until Christmas. Flesh emerald-green; can be eaten to the extreme rind. A good shipper. HONEY DEW, SALMON-FLESHED. Identical with Honey Dew except the flesh is beautiful salmon. Improved Junior Rocky Ford. Through painstaking reselection we have further perfected this type. It has a deep stripe, thickly and roughly netted, is of uniform size and has deep, rich flesh of attractive salmon-pink. The vines are very resistant to blight. Plant in May, when the ground is warm, in hills 5 feet apart each way, twelve to fifteen seeds to the hill, and cover J^inch deep. To prevent damage by insects, spray with Pyrox. Thin out a few plants after they show good growth, and when danger of insects is over remove all but two plants to the hill.
