The iconic Wallace Monument on a sunny spring morning
The 67m-high Wallace Monument stands on Abbey Craig opposite Stirling Castle and was built by public subscription in 1859-69 to JT Rochead's design. An internal spiral staircase leads to a platform with superb views over the surrounding countryside.
