Sometimes there wasonly one ceremony during the twenty-four hours, but thenumber varied up to as many as nine on one occasion,representing eight diiFerent totemic groups. There areone or two curious features about them, as comparedwith those of the Arunta. In the latter each totemicgroup has its sacred ceremonies, but they may be per-formed singly and in any order.
