The spectacular Turning Torso skyscraper in Malmö, Sweden, was opened in 2005. It is 190 meters (623 feet, 54 stories) tall.


Turning Torso was designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. When opened in august 2005 it was the tallest residential building in the European Union. The tower is situated in Västra hamnen, The Western Harbour, in Malmö; a new, modern residential area on the Swedish side of the Öresund strait.
