A boy living near the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone is checked with the spectrophotometer for internal contamination in the hospital in Ivankov. Ukraine


The boy is living in the village Radinka that is located only a few kilometers from the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Nevertheless, the area is contaminated by radioactive substances, which is not recognized by the government. Despite the dangers to health, the residents receive no support. In the hospital of Ivankov the scientist Yury Bandazhevsky is making researches on radiation effects after the Chernobyl disaster in order to help the effected population.
