Gastric band. Computer illustration of a human stomach with a laparoscopic adjustable gastric band (LAGB) installed. Gastric bands are inflatable silicone devices placed around the top portion of the stomach to treat obesity by slowing consumption of food and thus reducing the amount of food consumed.
