The General Electric Companys hand starter differs slightly from the type Just de-scribed. A complete diagram is shown in Fig. 72 where the starter is connected to a simpleshunt wound motor. It is to be noted in this diagram that the release magnet M is shuntedacross the D. C. line, and has a coil of fixed resistance R-1 connected in series. Automatic Motor Starters.—It is often essential to install a motorgenerator at a point remote from the wireless cabin in order that the noisefrom its operation may not interfere with the reception of wireless signals.
