Transvaal Park. Zuiderpark. The Hague, The Netherlands. Saturday 21 October, 2023. Police estimated around 1500 pro-Palestinian protesters attended the protest march in The Hague today. The demonstrators gathered in The Hague's Transvaal Park, and then walked a short distance to the Zuiderpark. The demonstrators draw attention to 'the injustice that occurs in the world and especially at this present time in Palestine or Gaza. It comes as aid finally reached Gaza for the first time since Israel imposed a blockade following a Hamas attack which killed 1,400 people in Israel. The aid amounted to twenty-lorries, an insignificant amount to sustain a population of 2,3 million. Israel cut off basic life-support essentials of fuel, electricity and water to Gaza after Hamas's military wing broke through the border into Israel on Saturday 7 October, killing 1400 people and taking numerous hostages. Israel has launched waves of aerial strikes on the Gaza Strip, targeting what it says are structures linked to Hamas. Israeli has left thousands of civilians dead and the civilian body-count is on the rise daily. The strikes have displaced around million Gazans. On Saturday, the Israeli military said it would "deepen" and "increase" the strikes, to allow Israel to "minimise the risks to our forces in the next stages of the war". Image Caption.
