A wall in a Route 66 museum in Pontiac, Illinois, USA, covered in American car license plates dating from 1912 to 1984. The flat plates in the centre dated 1943 to 1948 are made from soybeans rather than metal because of wartime shortages. Route 66 is a historic highway that runs from Chicago, Illinois, to Santa Monica, California, USA.
