The European Airbus A400M Atlas Military Transport Aircraft has an unusual propeller configuration. Known as Down Between Engines or DBE. The contra rotating propellers reduce torque effects allowing a more efficient wing design and a smaller tail fin. The giant 8 blades composite props are manufactured by Ratier Figeac, part of UTC Aerospace.
