29/09/24 Volunteer Terry Williams starts the burn in the retort this morning. Ahead of next week’s predicted Indian Summer, charcoal makers in the National Forest fire-up their retort for one of the last burns of the season. The volunteers at Heartwood Community Woodfuel, near Coleorton, Leicestershire, produce 100% of their charcoal from sustainable, managed, broadleaf woodlands worked and managed by their co-operative members. +44 (0)7765 242650
