A village blacksmith forging a new sign for Ditchling in Sussex, using the famous London Underground Johnston typeface.
Blacksmith Nigel Stenning uses his forge, anvil and hand made hammers to form another branch and leaf for the new Ditchling Village sign in East Sussex. The sign bears the famous sans-serif Johnston typeface designed by 1920's Ditchling resident Edward Johnston, a craftsman who designed this typeface for the London Underground. He also designed the famous roundel symbol used for tube station names. The new Ditchling sign was displayed for the first time on Tuesday 20th October 2009
