Interior of the Round Church of the Convent of Christ in Tomar (Portugal), recognized as UNESCO world heritage site


The Charola (or Rotunda), dating from 12th century, is an early Romanesque fortified oratory inspired by the Temple in Jerusalem. Capitals on the central columns and painting of stone makes allusion to St. Christopher.
