The Port Authority Building Port Vell Barcelona Catalunya Spain
The building that today houses the Port Authority of Barcelona was planned in 1903 and completed in 1907. It is now classified as historic and artistic architectural heritage. Originally a maritime station, a departure point known as the “Embarcador de Viatgers”, the building once contained a restaurant that was well known amongst the local people. However, in 1918 it was converted into the headquarters of the Board of Public Works, forerunner of the Autonomous Port of Barcelona (from 1978 to 1992) and the present Port Authority of Barcelona
