Let the horse be in good flesh when you put him up; night andmorning walk him four miles, well clothed with one blanket and asuit of horse clothes, for eight days ; water him between the walk-ing with forty swallows ; feed him at nine in the morning, at twelveoclock, at six in the evening, and at nine at night, with three quartsof oats and chopped corn, one-fifth chopped corn, giving him onebundle of blades after feeding in the morning, at twelve oclock, andat six oclock: after feeding at nine at night, give him two bundlesof blades. Let him be well rubbed before each feed with straw asto his body, and his legs with woollen rubbers ; let him have a goodbed of straw; let his feet and legs, night and morning
