Some sten-cils for air-brushwork are madeof brass, whichis about one-six-teenth of an inch thick. The design, being drawn on thinpaper, is pasted down and, after being cut with a jig-saw, isfiled up smoothly and then used in the regular way. Lead Stencils. Sheet lead which is wide and about 1-16 inch thick can bebought in rolls, and with slight pressure flattened out. Thedesign is traced througha carbon sheet, the sur-face of the lead beingfirst covered with a thincoat of whiting, whichdistinctly shows the let-tering and design whenthe tracing paper is re-moved.
