Baitul Futuh Mosque, Morden, London, UK. 2nd October 2015. Morden's Baitul Futuh Mosque, opened it's doors to thousands of Muslim faithful for Friday prayers less than a week after the building was targeted by two young arsonists. Local Muslims were joined by neighbours and prominent political, community and religious leaders and His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the worldwide Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, delivered his first sermon following the fire, before a congregation of thousands of worshippers. The sermon was also telecast to millions of faithful in 7 languages to 200 countries. The mosque building itself is completely untouched by any damage, but worshippers couldn’t visit it until it was declared safe by the London Fire Brigade and the Metropolitan Police. Today would be their first sight of the complex and the first Friday Prayers in the mosque since then. A 14-year-old has been bailed and a 16-year-old was released with no further action. The Metropolitan Police said the investigation was ongoing but "there is nothing to suggest at this stage that this is a hate crime”.
