The air is admitted and exhausted bythe use of three-inch cock in the air pipe. Tire Heater The use of oil for heating tires in orderto shrink them upon their centers has beena common practice for many years, anda number of arrangements have been de-signed for the work. The one here illus-trated is very simple in construction, workswell, rapidly and economically and mayIje worth copying by those having troublewith the apparatus now in use. The source of fuel supply is a tank 12in. in diameter and 33 in. long, having agauge glass attached to one side. Airunder pressure is admitted to the top andthe oil delivery is through a Vs-m. pipeleading out from the bottom. The air line has a Tee, as shown, with aglobe valve between the Tee and the tankand in the side pipe. The oil and air pipes come together inthe Tee A. The globe valve, in the oilhne, just above the Tee A has the holein the seat reduced to % in., while thepipe entering the Tee is reduced in its. inside diameter In form a nozzle 1/32 diameter, from which the oil drops downinto the path of the air jet. The air pipe as it enters the Tee A isreduced to form a nozzle J4 • dia-meter, from which the issuing air mingleswith tile oil dropping from the oil nozzleand through a ^-in. check valveand thence on through the J^-in. pipe tothe ring which it enters at B. The connection at B is made by meansof the pipe C. This is a 5^-in. pipe with bushing at one end to screw into
